Artwork inspired by Alma Woodsey Thomas
18th Oct 2022
As part of Black History month we learned about a lady called Alma Woodsey Thomas, who as a child could not go to a library or a museum due to the colour of her skin. Her family had to move house due to experiencing racism. They wanted a better future for Alma who later became an art teacher. She was proud to be the first African American to get her artwork displayed in a solo gallery.
The children loved completing their artwork which is very effective indeed. Well done everyone 👍
