Over the last couple of months, P7 have been taking part in a heritage project about how Crumlin has changed since WW2. Today, it culminated with a visit to Gartree Church at Langford Lodge for the final lesson of their local heritage project. The class learned about the history of the church and the pivotal role Langford Lodge played in WW2 😀
Members of the Wartime Living History Associaton also joined us for the day. They put on some fantastic role play activities and workshops showing the children memorabilia from the American, German, British and Polish armies. They also taught us how to march like soldiers - some undisciplined soldiers had to be brought out and made to do pushups 🙈🥵
It was a fantastic day in beautiful surroundings. A huge thank you to Gartree Church for hosting the event and we look forward to working with the church and Wartime Living History Association again next year 😀
